Granted, while clubs aren't really necesary for producing colaboartors, but they are nice to have around. I don't know how most people run these and to be honest this is the first and only club I'm accually running.
Seeing as you have a distain for clubs perhaps the the best discourse you would be to simply create a peice showing such distain. Please bear in mind mind that this is only a sugestion and not an order.
Looking back on the conversation so far I've noticed you seem to be a bit high-strung. take a moment to calm your nerves, then get back to if you still feel like it.

Anyway, what is accually gained from joining any club depends on the person and the club itself. For example, joining a photography club would do me no good as I don't own a camera. Joining a digial art club however will give me access to the insight of other digital artists, and a chance to give insight to those artists in turn. I also can meet people of like and differing intersts for any future collaberations that might come along the way. If someone doesn't believe that they'll gain anything from joining a club, thin it's not likely that they will, and they cannot (and should not feel that are being) be forced to.
The-toasters sounds like a good place to go if one want to share ideas or collaberate on the making of various types of icons, and possibly I.D.s.
